Running to save lives
1er juin 2010

Most of you know me as the National Manager of the Rotax Max Challenge program or one of SRA Karting team member. In the last two years, several people who are close to me were diagnosed with cancer, including my dad and, as many of you already know, the wife of my colleague and friend Daniel Lamothe. Recently, cancer became the first cause of mortality in Canada.

I am training to run a half-marathon in Orlando next October within the Team in Training program of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. Like other members of TNT, I am raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I will run a half marathon to support all the people battling cancer. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line, a cure!

I am calling upon the Canadian karting community, who have always given their support, to help me reach my goal by making a donation to support my participation in this event and help advance LLSC’s mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. There is nothing more challenging than fighting a life threatening disease and by supporting me you will be helping us reach these goals. You can make your donation online through my Team in Training website (when you click on "sponsor me" you are redirected on a secured page) or by mail by filling the donation form.

I am not a scientist who can discover a remedy for cancer but I can, with my engagement, raise funds to help scientists to find a cure.

My training started last month and I have progressed quite well. I am already running 5 times a week for distances between 3 to 8 km. To be honest, I have always preferred speed, especially motor speed, to the slow pace of running but I’m doing this quest for all those people I love and who had to fight or are actually fighting cancer.

I hope you’ll visit my website often to check on my progress.

Thanks so much for your support!
