Resume of General rules for 2009 series
1) Points: In each class, only the points of the six best results will count for the championship (1 joker per class), except in Rotax DD2, where there will be no joker. A disqualification may not be used as a joker. The Results of the last race may be used as a joker only if driver has participated.
2) Age: Minimum age reached by July 1, except:
- Mini-Max and Honda Junior: Driver may compete if 10 years old the day of the event in which he wishes to participate and if he has at least 1 year of experience racing in the Cadet class.
- Rotax Max Junior: Driver must be 13 years old by November 6th 2009 at the latest and no older than 16 by December 31, 2009.
- Rotax Max: Driver must be 15 by the 1st race in which he wishes to participate.
3) Honda Senior: The minimum weight required to participate in Honda is 320lbs (driver + kart without added fuel or lead). Identification numbers must be black on a white background. For the Honda Lite class, the numbers must be black on a yellow background. Both classes will run together on the track, the Honda Lite grouped in the front. If the total amount of registrations for both classes is 35 or more, the classes will run separately.
4) Masters T.A.G.: Weight has been increased at 375 lbs. Eligible engines: FR125 Max and Vortex Rok. No engine preparation is allowed. The engines must be sealed.
5) Rotax ESPOIR: New class created for 2009 to facilitate the entry for a Novice racer into the senior Rotax class.
Criteras to participate:
a) A new senior driver with a first licence must register in this class and must participate in 3 races in order to advance to Rotax senior the following year.
b) All drivers of 15 y.o. and over are eligible to race in this class except:
- - Drivers who have finished in the top15 in the Rotax Max senior class in the 2008 Coupe de Montreal series;
- - Drivers who have reached a podium in in the Rotax Max senior class in the 2008 Coupe de Montreal series; and
- - Divers who have finished in the top 5 in the Rotax Max Junior class in the 2008 Coupe de Montreal series.
c) The organizers reserve the right to move a driver into Rotax Max Senior on considering his or her experience currently or in the past.
d) A driver is not allowed to compete in Rotax Espoir and Rotax Max Senior at the same event.
e) The top three Drivers of this class in the 2009 Coupe de Montreal series will not be allowed to compete in this class in 2010.
