Circuito Internacional Paladino, Conde, Brazil, December 1st, 2018 – Today was the last day of the event with the presentation of the final race in each class.

125 Micro MAX

We didn’t have Canadian driver in this one, so we were cheering for Brent Crews from USA. He started 4th and manage to get up to first place and won the race over Douwe Dedecker (BEL) and Mitchell Van Dijk (NLD).

125 Mini MAX

It was the most important race for Kieran Hartley (CAN) of his young career. Starting from position 7th, he was involved in many battles. He fought hard and he surely had a good time on the track even if he finished 17th. Great experience for this kid. Farin Megger (GER) won the race, beating Dani Van Ruiten (NLD) and Augustin Bernier (FRA).

125 Junior MAX

Our best chance of podium for Team Canada was in the Junior class with Thomas Nepveu starting 6th. Behind him, Townes Allen was 28th and Jason Leung 32nd. Right at the start, drivers in the top 5 battle very hard in the first corner, giving the possibility to Nepveu to make his way around them to exist 2nd corner 4th. Of course, the Junior race is never and easy one and he changed position several times between 2nd and 6th place. He crossed the finish line 4th and just missed the podium. Jason Leung had his second strong race in a row, gaining 8 places from the start, ending 24th. Townes Allen finished 30th. The victory went to Robert De Hann (NLD) followed by Jaiden Pope (AUS) and his compatriot Mike Van Vugt.

125 MAX

The competition in the Senior class was the tougher this week, as we saw with the several penalties and the final race wasn’t different. A lot of action and contacts again in this race. Senna Van Walstijn (NLD) easily won the race but the battle behind was very hard. Mark Kimber (UK) and Mario Novak (AUT) finished 2nd and 3rd.

125 MAX DD2 Masters

Cristiano Morgado (RSA) lead the race from start to checkered to win his 5th Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Final title. Antti Ollikainen (FIN) and Art Fraser (NZL) finished 2nd and 3rd.

125 MAX DD2

Note. DD2 results were not officials at the time of posting.

The event ended with a fantastic race in DD2. Huge battle between Dany Formal (CRI) and Xen De Ruwe (SVN) for the first half but De Ruwe received a mechanical flag for his damaged rear bumper. Then Frenchman Paolo Besancenez passed Formal at the end to take the win. Taylor Greenfield (USA) finished 3rd.
